So here we are prepping for my third trip to Spain to continue on the Via De La Plata to Santiago De Compostela.
My attitude is different this time:
- Leg 1 (2014): Started the hike nervous and apprehensive about such a major undertaking ... unsure of myself and my abilities. Ended the hike with the knowledge that I could do it, despite some setbacks, and that I was capable of more within myself.
- Leg 2 (2015): Started this leg of the camino knowing that I was capable and wanted to explore my limits. Ended the camino leg with self-assuredness that I could be more than I had been.
- Leg 3 (Coming up): Relaxed and looking for adventure and more self-discovery.
Looking for a theme song to set the mood.
Possibilities:
"I'm Alive" by ELO | I'm alive - and the world shines for me today. I'm alive - suddenly I am here today. Seems like forever (and a day); thought I could never (feel this way). Is this really me? I'm alive, I'm alive. I'm alive - and the dawn breaks across the sky. I'm alive - and the sun rises up so high. Lost in another world (far away); never another word (till today). But what can I say? I'm alive, I'm alive. Suddenly came the dawn (from the night). Suddenly I was born (into light). How can it be real? I'm alive, I'm alive. |
'Somewhere Only We Know' by Lily Allen | I walked across an empty land. I knew the pathway like the back of my hand. I felt the earth beneath my feet; Sat by the river and it made me complete. Oh simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting tired and I need someone to rely on. I came across a fallen tree; I felt the branches of it looking at me. Is this the place we used to love? Is this the place that I've been dreaming of? Oh simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on. And if you have a minute, why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything, So why don't we go somewhere only we know? So tell me when you're gonna let me in; I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin. |
'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole | Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high, And the dreams that you dreamed of Once in a lullaby. Somewhere over the rainbow, blue birds fly And the dreams that you dreamed of ... Dreams really do come true. Someday I'll wish upon a star; Wake up where the clouds are far behind me, Where trouble melts like lemon drops High above the chimney top ... That's where you'll find me. Oh, somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly And the dream that you dare to ... Oh why, oh why can't I? |
