Schroedinger’s Cat on The camino
In this thought experiment, a cat is in a closed box where observation of the cat is impossible.
Before you open the box on Schroedinger’s cat, the paradox is that the cat can be dead or alive ... and so until you open the box, it could be both simutaneously dead and alive.
However opening the box definitively alters the system. It is obvious whether the cat is alive or dead.
In the world of quantum mechanics, it has been repeatedly proven that sub-atomic particles exist in multiple states simultaneously until examined. Once examined they can only be in one state.
What if there were a 3rd possibility?
What if the cat was imperceptibly breathing?
Then opening the box removes one state while leaving two other states.
You now have to physically examine the cat, not just open the box, to definitively determine the cat's state.
On the Camino, when the markers are unclear ( go left or go straight or go right ), you can't know the correct choice until you embark on one direction.

On the Camino, when the markers are unclear ( go left or go straight or go right ), you can't know the correct choice until you embark on one direction.
But making the choice of a path, unlike observing or examining the cat, does not reveal the truth of the system. Only when you see a follow-on marker, can you know you made the right choice. But not seeing the marker only means that you have not gone far enough, not that you made the wrong choice ... or you did make the wrong choice, but can't prove it. You can only decide for yourself if you have taken the wrong turn.
